Guide to Rechargeable Battery Care

Rechargeable Battery
Rechargeable batteries are becoming increasingly prevalent as capacity and recharge speed has improved significantly compared to the early days. New batteries now provide better performance in smaller and lighter packages with longer operating times.

At the same time, care should be taken to extend battery life and minimize potential hazards! The advice below applies not only to Charder's rechargeable device models, but rechargeable batteries in general!

Avoid overcharging
One of the most important things you can do to extend battery life is to avoid overcharging. Once battery reaches full charge, you should disconnect from the charger to avoid overcharging and reducing battery life.

Avoid extreme temperatures
Batteries do not function ideally in extreme temperatures, and exposure can potentially reduce battery life. This applies both for usage and for charging.

Avoid excessive discharge
Once a rechargeable battery has reached critically low levels, it is important to charge immediately and refrain from further use, to avoid battery damage. Note that rechargable batteries will continue to slowly discharge when not in use or while in storage!

Storage
Battery life is best when not fully charged or discharged. If a product is in use, it is best to charge it to full and unplug before usage.

When placing a battery into storage, it is best to charge or discharge it to about 50% capacity beforehand, and check it every 6 months to keep it charged to this level. If possible, it is even better if you can remove the battery and store it separately from the device. As extreme temperatures can reduce battery storage life, keeping it at a moderate temperature is also important.

Ultimately, all batteries have limited life and will gradually lose their capacity to hold a charge. This loss of capacity through aging is irreversible, and batteries should be recycled according to your local regulations accordingly rather than disposed of as general waste.
